The work in Egypt

Egypt has a population of approximately  90 million people.

Religion

87% Muslim.

13% belonging to Coptic Church.

Since 1978,  Geoff  has been  visiting the country of  Egypt  with the  full support of his wife and family and all the believers in fellowship at Swinton. In 1980 the Egypt Christian Fund was established for the development and extension of the Lord’s work in Egypt and to facilitate the transfer of monies. The purpose of this being to provide for the needs of the work in a material way and also for supporting the  national full  time workers as  well as  poor and persecuted believers.

Geoff  travels to Egypt on a regular basis  –  at  the request of  the Egyptian brethren – when  conditions  within Egypt allow.   He is regularly  asked  to minister the word of God and  to preach the Gospel  in  many parts of the country so that the saints might be encouraged and help given to strengthen the testimony.

At present – through the Egyptian trust fund – they are helping to establish a new refugee centre and a Christian hospital. There are now 50 assemblies in Egypt and a number of house churches.
